Hide a Mess in a Hurry 1

Does that situation sounds familiar to you: you’re on the couch, watching your favorite show, neglecting all the mess around you because you’re tired of the long day and a friend is calling that she/he is passing by to see you. You have 5 or 10 minutes to hide everything. Yes, to hide, because there is no time to put everything where it belongs.

Some smart people have special place for things which belong nowhere – a cupboard, dresser, or whole closet. But not everybody is so lucky or smart to provide such place.

Firstly, look at your sink if it’s full and put the dishes into the dishwasher. If you don’t have a dishwasher, hide the dirty dishes in a basket, pot or something else but big enough to collect everything. Trust me, you want everything to be at one place, otherwise the risk of finding something disgusting later is huge.

Now what you need to do is to find empty basket or huge bag very fast and put the clutter in it. Leave it on some hidden place which will be away from your friend’s glance. This includes garments which have to be in the hamper. You can handle this later.

Put the small things you don’t need but which are all over your house in zip bags and leave it in the corner under some bed. Loose the bedspread to hide what is under the bed. You can use this place for plenty of other things.

Toss your shoes, coats and jackets into the closet or again under the bed. There is enough room in there.

Gather your bathroom clutter in a bag and hang it on the shower head. Throw the wet towels in the bathtub and put paper towels. Pull the bathroom curtains. Clean the toilet with cream soap and flush. Light candles if necessary.

If you don’t have time to wipe, you can blow the dust away. But do it after you have taken everything needless and after that don’t move anything else. Even if somebody notice that there is a little dust on your furniture, you can tell them you’ve been too busy today and you just got back from work and didn’t have time to do it before they come.

Vacuum quickly around the furniture to make your home more presentable. Only around the furniture – you don’t have time to get into details.

Get a box for paper, mails, notes, warranties, receipts, etc. Everything which you have spread all around the house must get in the box and go in a hidden place. It is good to keep that box in future and to make it a habit to put unnecessary papers there.

If you think you’ll have time, you can decide while collecting things if you need them or not and to divide it into two groups – things you use and trash. Leave the trash on the balcony and make sure your friends are not going outside. You can lie to them that the door is broken and it is possible to fall down if you open it.

You can follow all the tips provided by cleaning service kilburnor you can choose to hide the mess only from one of the rooms and stay there with your friends.

Another good option is you to be a good housekeeper and you won’t need to do all of these “exercises”. Try everyday to put everything where it belongs and when you have unexpected guests the only thing that you will need to do is to wipe and vacuum. The dirty dishes can stay in the sink if you and your friends are staying in the living room.
