Affordable maternity clothes
So you found out you are pregnant, congratulations! In case you didn’t know your belly (and other parts) are going to grow and you will need to buy some new clothes. But who wants to buy new clothes that you are literally only going to wear for a few months.
When I finally couldn’t squeeze into my favorite stretchy yoga pants, I bit the bullet and went maternity clothes shopping. I started at the mall (which I never go to). What did I find? The average maternity shirt cost $30 and a pair of jeans started at $40. What? Are they kidding? Do they know I am only going to wear them for a few months?
So I left the mall and headed over to good ol’ Target. Again, shirts were still $15 and jeans were around $35. My last stop was TJMaxx, who apparently don’t carry maternity clothes at all (FYI). I opted to just buy some larger yoga pants and search for jeans and shirts online.
When I got home, I was talking to one of my recently pregnant friends and she mentioned Ross for maternity clothes. My husband and I went the next day and I got a pair of jeans, a pair of cropped pants and 3 shirts for $60. Score!
A great online site for your maternity needs is Zulily. They have a section right now called Labor of Love, where you shop by trimester. I just bought two maternity bras for $12.99! You do have to sign up to use the site but it’t free to sign up and so worth it.
